Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine: Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty that uses radioactive tracers (radiopharmaceuticals) to assess bodily functions and to diagnose and treat disease. Specially designed cameras allow doctors to track the path of these radioactive tracers.

Nuclear Medicine Service offered at FCMC include but are not limited to bone scans, cardiac stress testing, gallbladder scan, gastric emptying study, liver/spleen scan, lung VQ scan, renal scan, and thyroid uptake scan.
